The candidate was presented with the following questions. The responses are printed as received and have not been edited by Staff Congress.

1. Why would you like to serve on Staff Congress?
I love the Murray State University community; my husband and I are both former students and current employees, and our children have attended MSU as well. I want to put my positivity and passion to work in advocating for MSU staff. I’m highly organized and creative, and I want to put those skills to work generating solutions to issues that impact our campus work environment.

2. Please list work experience and community involvement. I’ve been Director of two TRIO Talent Search programs at Murray State University, a federal grant program that provides college access programming to low-income first-generation middle and high school students across western Kentucky, for three years. Previously, I worked for MSU and the Council on Postsecondary Education’s GEAR UP Kentucky grant, a similar college access program, for 12 years. I was also a high school English teacher for 6 years. I have a BA and an MS, both in Secondary Education, from MSU, and I’m currently completing my Rank I in Library Media Science. I served a 2-year term on the Calloway County Public Library Board of Trustees.

Audrey is a candidate in the Executive/Managerial/Professional category.
