The candidate was presented with the following questions. The responses are printed as received and have not been edited by Staff Congress.

1. Why would you like to serve on Staff Congress?
I have served as a member of Staff Congress since 2013, most recently as Vice President. Staff are vital to Murray State and their input on critical decisions impacting the university should be heard. If re-elected, I would like to continue to serve as an advocate for staff at MSU while working to improve communication between the Congress, administration, and staff members. There are also several objectives that I would like to see carried out and supported as a continued member of Staff Congress. I want to make certain that the people most impacted by university policies and decisions are adequately represented.

2. Please list work experience and community involvement. I have served in several leadership roles within the community, the university, and with national organizations including: American Red Cross-Chair Board of Directors; City of Murray Human Rights Commission-Vice Chair; 4-H- community grant committee; BFSA-Vice President; and Amnesty International USA Board of Directors, Co-chair of the Nominating Committee, Kentucky Area Coordinator. I have also served on Staff Congress Committees for budget planning, insurance and benefits, textbook scholarship and special events.

Jessica is a candidate in the At-Large category.
