1. Why would you like to serve on Staff Congress?
I would like to serve as a member on Staff congress to work on committees and propose policy changes and procedural recommendations that improve work life for staff members.
I want to also promote the current work to being done to collect and maintain information on the website so there is a more centralized and focused effort to gather and discriminate information to all staff. https://www.murraystate.edu/about/FacultyStaff/StaffCongress/index.aspx
I want to produce actionable items that come from staff input that can be proposed to the university administration, the staff regent, and the board of regents as stated in the congress’s constitution. Then ensure those items are followed upon and held accountable on behalf of those I would represent. br>
2. Please list work experience and community involvement.
My previous work experience has been the typical food service, industry, retail, and landscaping jobs most get in their youth. I have worked in all those areas and know what it means to be fairly compensated for work performed.
My community involvement has been as a member on the 4-H council along with instructing 4-H clubs for young persons who are new to the computer science field. I also helped other instructors on occasion as the need arose in other STEM clubs.
