Have you served on Staff Congress before?   No

 At-Large category

The candidate was presented with the following questions. The responses are printed as received and have not been edited by Staff Congress.

1. Why would you like to serve on Staff Congress?

I am interested in representing administrative areas of Murray State’s campus that may not normally be heard. As an employee of Parking Services, I see facets of campus life that are more biased toward monetary rather than academic concerns, and the overlap between these issues is one that shouldn’t be overlooked. As our office is located within the campus police department, I can also bring a context of day-to-day campus life of which many others may not necessarily aware. I would like to be more involved with the campus community.

2. Please list work experience and community involvement.

I’ve lived in the Murray area since 2009, and I have been involved in volunteer work at the Humane Society and the Murray Art Guild at various points in that time. I am a graduate of Murray State as of Spring 2019, and during my time as a student I worked as a cashier at the former Goody’s location in Murray and as a mail carrier at Murray State. When I delivered mail, I felt connected to the entire campus community, and I saw the potential for every department to have a strong sense of partnership. When I graduated in 2019, I began working at the parking office and have been fostering friendships within our department. I have also always maintained a respectful and fair attitude with others on campus while in my role at Parking Services.
