- Why would you like to serve on Staff Congress?
I am interested in serving on Staff Congress at Murray State University because it provides a meaningful opportunity to represent staff perspectives, contribute to shared governance, and support the continued growth and success of the university community. With my background in administration, supervision, and higher education, I bring a well-rounded understanding of organizational operations and the importance of effective communication between staff and leadership.
My experience as both a staff member and adjunct instructor has given me insight into the diverse needs of employees across campus. I am passionate about fostering a collaborative environment where staff voices are heard, valued, and included in decision-making processes. Serving on Staff Congress would allow me to advocate for initiatives that enhance workplace engagement, professional development, and overall employee well-being.
Additionally, my leadership experience and commitment to community involvement have strengthened my ability to listen, problem-solve, and work effectively with others toward common goals. I am dedicated to supporting Murray State University’s mission and believe that serving on Staff Congress is an impactful way to contribute to a positive and productive campus environment.

With over 20 years of experience in administrative roles and 10 years in a supervisory position within the manufacturing industry, I bring a strong background in leadership, operations, and organizational management. In addition, I have five years of experience as an entrepreneur and small business owner, where I developed expertise in business development, customer relations, and strategic planning.
I have also served as an adjunct instructor at Murray State University for five years, teaching courses in Fundamentals of Management and New Product Development, further strengthening my commitment to education and professional development.
Beyond my professional experience, I am deeply committed to community service. Through my business, I have organized annual Christmas gift giveaways and community meal events to support local families. Following the 2021 tornado outbreak, we provided donations to affected families, communities, and organizations. We have also proudly supported the Marshall County Special Olympics through ongoing donations and outreach efforts.
